I Believe

I believe

  • That there is one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • That one can only be saved after realizing and repenting that he is a sinner in need of a Savior and then turning from his sins and
trusting in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
  • That this salvationis a free gift of God, is open to anyone who will accept it, and is eternally secure. “For God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” - (John 3:16)

My Saviour Lives in Me

My Saviour Lives in Me
You ask me why my skies are blue
And never dark or gray
My Saviour clears the storm clouds
And brightens up my day.
You ask me why I wear a smile
And not a scowl or frown
My Saviour brings me happiness
And never lets me down.

You ask me why the flowers bloom
And never wilt away
My Saviour gives me sweet perfume
And sends me fresh bouquets.
You ask me why the grass is green
On my side of the tracks
My Saviour gives a touch of spring
And never takes it back.

You ask me why I do His will
And heed His mighty call
My Saviour gives eternal life
And lifts me when I fall.
You ask me why I know such peace
And joy reigns in my heart
My Saviour took my sins away
And we will never part.

You ask me why I speak His name
And never do I falter
My Saviour calls for me to come
And meet Him at the altar.
You ask me why I love Him so
And why He set me free
My Saviour died that I might live
And now He dwells in me.

Jesus Christ

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made. John 1:1-3

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

God demonstrated His love by sending His promised Son, the Savior and Messiah, Jesus Christ, and allowing Him to be crucified. God paid for our sins Himself. The Lord is good, just and merciful beyond our understanding.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”. John 3:16

Seek God now. Humbly ask Him to forgive you of your sins. Jesus Christ paid the full price for sin on a Roman cross almost 2000 years ago. Seek His free gift of forgiveness and unending love.

Jesus Christ said: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Matthew 7:7,8

Believers Assembly Statement of Faith

We believe…
The Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God, that it was written
by men divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit, that it is the absolute
truth without error, that it is God’s complete revelation of His will for
man, and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and
conduct.

One True God

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God;
infinite in knowledge and power, ever present and eternally existent
in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God The Father

We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in
wisdom, and measureless in power. We rejoice that He concerns
Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, and that He hears and
answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who
come to Him through Jesus Christ.
God the son

We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son,
Virgin born, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sins of the
world by His death. We believe in His miracles, His bodily
resurrection, His ascension into heaven, His perpetual
intercession for His people, His personal return for those who are
His children (the rapture), and His visible return to this world to
establish His kingdom (millennial kingdom).

God The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Deity of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of
sin, of righteousness and of judgement, and who regenerates,
indwells, seals, sanctifies, teaches and comforts those who are
believers in Jesus Christ.

Creation and the Fall of Man

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth as recorded
in the book of Genesis, and that He created man in His own image.
That Adam, as the first man, was created sinless and innocent and
in perfect relationship with God but fell from this position by
choosing to sin. As such, all mankind are now sinners, not only by
nature, but by choice and therefore under just condemnation.

Salvation

We believe that man can only be saved after recognizing he is a
sinner in need of a Savior and then turning from his sins and
trusting in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. That this salvation
is a free gift of God, is open to anyone who will accept it, and is
eternally secure. “For God so loved the world that He gave us His
only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.” - (John 3:16)

Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord
Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven and His present life for us
as High Priest and Advocate—Acts 1:3; Acts 1:9; Hebrews 7:25-26.

Believers Assembly

Believer’s Assembly Chicago

Believer’s Assembly ,Chicago was established by a group of committed Christians during the early 1990’s. The assembly hall was dedicated to God’s glory on December 2, 1995 by Br. P. P Abraham. God has richly blessed our congregation in the past several years and should His coming tarry, we hope He will continue to bring forth bountiful fruit to our midst in future.

A bit of History

Our church has had its humble beginnings in the pattern of the “Plymouth Brethren”, a group of Christians who gathered in Plymouth, UK during the 1800’s. Some of the early leaders such as, John Nelson Darby, George Mueller, Dr. Edward Cronin, John Bellett, Anthony Norris Groves, and Francis Hutchinson felt that the established Church had become too involved with the secular state and had abandoned many of the basic truths of Christianity. As the movement spread, a large group of adherents assembled in Plymouth by 1831 which is why Brethren are often called by that
name.
The Plymouth Brethren are unusual in refusing a denominational name; they do not generally refer to themselves as “Plymouth Brethren,” nor do they regard themselves as a denomination, citing I Corinthians 3:4, where Paul scolds believers for dividing themselves into groups. Thus there is no denominational headquarters, no single standard of affiliation or formal membership. Each local assembly is independent and autonomous, informally linked with other assemblies only by a common heritage and common emphasis on the primacy of the weekly Breaking of Bread service

Statement of Faith

Have you ever known someone who believed in you

Have you ever known someone who believed in you, someone who frequently spoke words of encouragement and praise? The kind of person who made you feel you could do it, whatever “it” was? That’s the kind of person God wants us to be. Paul gave a good guideline when he wrote that everything we say should build up the one who is listening. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen (Ephesians 4:29).
